Knight Blades is pleased that our game is growing in leaps and bounds. We are discovering that our projected player numbers are starting to equal or exceed available cabin and bunk space at YOC. Knight Blades is opposed to "player caps" as we wish all to come and enjoy our events. To try and remedy this and make things as fair as possible, the following Cabin and Tent Policy is being implemented.

Cabin Reservations shall be included in the Event Registration Form found on our website, http://www.knightblades.net/Town%20Hall/Event.html . Any player or group wishing to reserve cabin space must do so by the Monday before the start of the event. Cabins shall be assigned on a first come first served basis.

Once the cabins are full, a Posting will be placed on the Message Boards, and there will be a waiting list for cancellations. Any individuals that do not check in on Friday before the opening meeting, and are not present by the end of the opening meeting, will have their bunk given to someone on the waiting list.

Knight Blades will designate a "No Combat Tent Area" but it will be an in-game area. The no combat rule shall be enforced for safety and to help protect property. However, you can not use tent proximity to avoid combat, and the interior of the tents is also considered in-game. You can tent in the woods in any area you wish. Tents cannot be placed within 20 feet of any permanent or temporary structure of YOC.

Any players who have all ready registered for the May 2009 event can send their Cabin Reservation requests to Davis@knightblades.net . They must include their name and the in-game group, or group of players, they are requesting to bunk with. If you have no in-game group you can still request a bunk.

Knight Blades is an ever changing environment and we appreciate your continued support and understanding in these matters.

Knight Blades new Cabin and Tent Policy can stand alone as it is, but we have included this follow-up post to help answer the anticipated questions it may generate.

The time and date on the registration shall be the first determining factor on assignment.

The Cabins we will take reservations for contain 10 Bunks each and there are 5 Cabins. Due to safety concerns we cannot approve of players sleeping on the floors of the cabins, or any other player provided cots or hammocks, so no more than 10 people will be assigned to a cabin.

All cabins will be filled to capacity. Established in-game groups that can not fill a cabin with 10 people will have individuals assigned to the cabin. Any issues or concerns shall be directed to the Staff and their decision shall be final.

The "flop house" will continue to be reserved for Staff and will remain OOG. Our growing number of NPCs shall continue to use the bunk house at NPC camp.

Being a settlement town there are housing issues. Once the cabins are full you still have options available to you that will not take away from the in-game atmosphere. You can tent in the designated tent area. You can tent in the woods. You can tent in other areas if you wish, but must first have approval from a Staff member as to tent placement.

YOC has a few other structures with bunks in them. However, these will not be part of our reservation process. These structures are for future plot or town buildings. The soon to be added temple and guild are part of this prior planning. If any of these buildings are available for sleeping, players on our stand-by list will be given first opportunity to them at check in.

We advise all players who do not secure a reservation, or on stand-by, to bring a tent with them. We further advise all players to have adequate shelter if they do not arrive to camp by the end of the opening meeting. Any further questions or concerns can be directed to Davis via his email.

I make this post in an effort to bump this policy to the top of the board.

The last event was, in my opinion, a great event. However, it was the first true test of this policy, and we have some issues to work out.

I was informed of several problems regarding sleeping arrangements.

A player went to their cabin to find out there were all ready more than 10 people in there. I wish to apologize to this member, it seems I was a little harsh at the closing meeting and it seemed as though I was angry with him. This was not the case, my anger was in the breakdown of the policy and/or someone circumventing the policy to cause this issue.

I also saw one cabin that had 6 bunks in it, and another that had 11 bunks in it. I do not know if this was done by the players, or if that was how it was found on Friday. Either way, I was informed prior to this policy being made, there are 10 bunks per cabin. I will address this issue with Harald via email soon. I am frustrated by this because it has happened in the past and I was only recently made aware of it.

Last, and the worst thing I had heard, was someone was forced out of their cabin in the middle the event. If this was an in-game happening and mutually agreed upon by all parties, then I have nothing to say. If it was in fact an OOG decision made by a group then it is totally unacceptable. Under no circumstances is anyone to be told for OOG reasoning they are to leave a cabin by the other players, PERIOD.

In the future, I would ask everyone to bring any bunk issues directly to me when they are happening. Come to NPC camp no matter what time it is and the Staff will resolve the situation as soon as possible.

We are going to tweak this policy and try to avoid player caps, but if the issues cannot be resolved, a cap may be inevitable and that is not what we wish to do.
